Visitors Here!

Allie, Brian, and Leland came to visit this past Wednesday. He was missing his Aunt Annie and so we put in a call. Aunt Annie talked and talked to him and he listened and did a lot of smiling too. We went to the Zoo on Friday and picked the best time ever. We were arriving as the school field trips were leaving. The super hot day was finally ebbing and we were able to see the three new tiger cubs. We enjoyed a Saturday at Paramounts Great America in the morning followed by a great swim time in the afternoon with cousins and guests.

Yodeling

I want this song memorized by the time I come this weekend! =) Cool huh?! Love you!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

All the kids went in on a present for you, I know you have received more from some, but this is the planned gift that we knew you would enjoy, and might go better with your new kitchen that is on it's way! I'm such a clutz for forgetting to bring it last weekend, but maybe I'll hold it hostage so I can see you sooner, rather than later.
WE LOVE YOU!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Thanks to Jen, she put a little collage together for you for mother's day too, that included all I had mentioned, YOU, your husband, your kids, grandkids and something with yodeling! THANKS Jen!

Conference Weekend

Gotta love Ethan and his tic tacs. Adds a little zing to conference. :)

So what was your favorite talk and why?

Cienna's Surgery

Yesterday Cienna had surgery to remove a tooth and the infected tissue around it. She had a general anesthesia and was in some pain as she came out of it. Momba had a little trouble getting her to take her pain meds the first time--OK, we'll call it a little, but the effort eventually involved both parents, some serious fit, and a threat that no errands would be run without medication first. Curiously, I think it was the errands that sent her over the edge and made her take it. :)

The rest of the day was cake...filled with rocking with Grandma, a Frosty from Wendy's, cardmaking for the cousins, and maybe even a Winnie the Pooh sticker or two. Did you know that Cienna prefers WtP even to her favorite Disney Princess, Belle? Who knew??

VA?!

Yet another moment for Momba. Does anyone have any chocolate?!? Gene and Quynh are looking at what seems to be a very good offer in VA. Without saying anything, you'll all know exactly what this means to Momba.

And yet, as she told Quynh, she hasn't been praying the offer wouldn't come. :) She's remained totally neutral. She's been praying with all her heart that the very best thing for this little family who has her heart in the palm of their hands will be the thing that comes through and that they choose for their next step.

That's one heck of an example. I'm afraid I might just avoid the subject. :)

Saying Goodbye

Yesterday sweet Momba had a rough day. She had decided to give Grandma's dining room furniture to Uncle Bob. She wanted to do this because she knew that he would treasure it, take great care of it, and really enjoy it. She wanted him to have another something to share with his little girl from a grandma that loved her--and made her own exit--long before she made her appearance on earth. She needed more room for the remodel of her home to house her parents-in-law. She wanted the furniture back where it had always been so at home...and so much a part of our memories at grandma's house.

She thought it would be a simple thing to do. But when it came right down to it, she found herself patting the furniture and actually telling it goodbye. She was surprised to be in tears after its departure from the emotions the goodbye brought.

She thought all of this was silly.

But not me. I think it shows how much Momba loves her own Momba and anything and everything associated with her. I think it tells us a little about the value she places on family. And heritage. And loving each other. And memories. I think it was a tender moment, and I'm glad I got to be part of it...even just for the retelling.

We love you Momba!
